Speak Like A Couponer

If you are feeling a little lost when reading the weekly deals posted, read this list of common coupon terms and things will become crystal clear.


Adperk; Video Value = A program that Rite Aid has for Wellness members. You watch a quick video about a specific product and get a coupon to print out

$1/1 = One dollar off 1 item

$1/2 = One dollar off 2 items

B1G1; B2G1 = Buy one item get one item free; buy two items get one item free

Blinkie = Coupons dispensed by coupon machines found in grocery aisles usually next to products and it may have a blinking red light. Manufacturer blinkie coupons may be redeemed at any store, not necessarily the store in which you found them

BOGO = Buy One item Get one item free or sometimes ½ off

CAT's = Catalina’s, those coupons that print out of the machine next to the register after you pay for your purchase

Coupon Insert = Coupon circulars inserted into Sunday newspapers

ECB = Extra Care Bucks print out on your receipts at CVS

Filler = Cheap (usually under a $1.00) item that “fills in” when you have more coupons than items or need to use reward dollars

IVC = Instant Value Coupon. IVC's are store coupons found in the weekly Walgreens ad. IVCs may be stacked with a manufacturer’s coupon

M2S = Moments To Save (Pepsico Coupon Insert)

Manu; MQ = Manufacturer’s coupon = Moments Two Save Sunday Paper Insert, Pepsi Co products

MIR = Mail-In Rebate

OOP = Out Of Pocket (amount you actually pay at the register)

OYNO = On Your Next Order

Peelie = Adhesive manufacturer’s coupons found on products in the store

PG = Proctor & Gamble Sunday paper insert

Q(s) = Coupon(s)

RA = Rite Aid

Rain Check = A written slip that you can request from a store when a sale item is out of stock

RP = Red Plum Sunday paper insert

RR = Register Rewards print out on your receipt at Wag's

SCR = Single Check Rebate at Rite Aid. You enter receipts online and get a reimbursement check each period (month)

SS = Smart Source Sunday paper insert

Tear Pad = A pad of manufacturer’s coupons found near product on shopping aisles. Tear pad manufacturer coupons may be used at any store, not just the one where you found the coupon

Transaction = A transaction refers to your entire purchase

UPS + = UP Rewards print out on your receipt at Rite Aid

WAGs = Walgreens

WYB = When You Buy

YMMV = Your Mileage May Very
